It is the objective of this article to describe the most common occupational risks to which workers are subjected in hairdressers and overall beauty centers (known as aesthetic), which were classified into two groups, on the one hand as physical and environmental, which include lighting, noise, thermal environment, chemical and biological contaminants, as well as on air quality and on the other hand, those related to working conditions, which include workload, awkward postures maintained for long time periods and repetitive movements. In both risk groups there are potential capacities to produce diseases and accidents of various kinds. The article then tries to relate a set of basic preventive actions derived from legislation in force in Colombia, as well as recommended good practices identified in the literature on the subject matter that can help greatly to avoid accidents and occupational diseases of the people working on these sites
