This article presents a reflection about the impact of technology in educational settings. An analysis from different locations has been done, considering educative community members' points of view (teacher, student groups, institutions), who are involved in the educational process, highlighting its importance in the knowledge society. This, with the intention of making a warning not to continue adding to the existing digital gap which sharply separates Latin American countries from those that are called first world countries. From this perspective, some ideas and solutions are presented to the proposed problem
